This is to thank you for
the wonderful work your team has done on our house. We are thrilled with the
outcome, and have really appreciated the way you have done the whole job. You were the only builder who quoted who took the time to speak to us and try to understand the job, and we had a lot more confidence in the quote as a result. You started on time, and finished on time and all the way through, respected the fact that we were living on the premises with two very small children. We couldn't believe it when you cleaned up every day. You kept to the project schedule even when the bath was stuck on the wharf for days and the wrong floorboards were delivered. You fixed the problems we raised (and there were not many) promptly and without arguing, and you responded to the changes in design that happened along the way. We also really liked the team you brought in to work with you — they were competent, friendly and committed to doing a quality job. My wife and I decided on a
design by Tom Cox of Habitat Architects, to suit the needs of a narrow suburban
block, close to the city. When it came time to elect a building company
we chose Craig Preston Homes, based on the more personalised service we received
during the tendering process; with this firm we dealt directly with the man who
owned the company. The house was completed within project time and budget, including on-going design changes during construction to satisfy changing Council requirements. Nothing was ever a drama for Craig Preston, his staff and various sub-contractors, where we were constantly kept informed of construction progress. The completed house was superbly built and well finished - testament to the quality of work and attention to detail by Craig Preston Homes. We didn’t choose the cheapest builder or the biggest company – we went with what we thought was the best. Our choice of architect and builder, quite simply, were two of the best decisions we’ve ever made. In April 1999, following the devastating hailstorm that ravaged Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, we were surprised when Craig Preston arrived unannounced at our front door the next day. He had called by with equipment and tradesmen, inquiring whether one of "his" houses had been damaged and if we needed any assistance. Yes it had... and we did! That's after sales service you'll go a long way to find in this day and age. John |

When our family outgrew our
heritage semi-detached cottage, we had to make the decision, renovate or move.
After discussions with an Architect we decided on the former. Tenders were
called and we settled on Craig Preston Contract building to carry out a first
floor addition and partial ground floor renovation. We had to be particularly
careful with our choice of builder due to Council requirements for the addition
to be in keeping with the style of the surrounding buildings. Like all serious renovations, things did not always go smoothly with rain at the wrong time and the discoveries one makes in old houses when the demolition commences. However, Craig and his team did an excellent job in getting us through the difficult times without causing us any inconvenience, even though we had chosen to live in the house whist the work was carried out. The teamwork with our Architect was particularly good, and as we decided on a variation here and there, their flexibility showed through and all extras were carried out efficiently without any fuss. We were extremely happy with the workmanship and the professional attitude of Craig’s people. Our neighbors also, were full of praise with the way the team went out of their way to ensure that there was little inconvenience to them. The result is a beautiful two-story semi, which blends perfectly with its heritage surroundings and is a real credit to Craig’s efforts. Alan and Sue |

I would very highly recommend Craig Preston Contract Builder. His work was of good quality. He & his team were always polite and nothing was
too much trouble. The things that I like most about Craig Preston was that he
always communicated with me and kept me informed on what was scheduled for each
week's work. His team finished the job within the allocated time frame and met

My wife and I
contracted Craig Preston approximately 3 years ago to undertake extensions and
renovations to our home at Bronte. These comprised the addition of a top story
and alterations to the existing house. The work was carried out to our complete satisfaction. The finished product demonstrates the top quality workmanship of Craig and his team. Craig is a very capable builder. He is an excellent communicator and has a pleasant manner. He was available constantly during construction to discuss the aesthetics of the job to ensure the finish was as we envisaged it would be. When necessary, he suggested alterations to the plans. Over the last few years, Craig Preston Contract
Builder P/L has built a dozen projects, which we have designed and documented.
We have also administered the building contracts for these projects. They have
included new houses and alterations and additions to houses, with a contract
value of up to about $500 000. Craig has won these projects through competitive tendering. In quoting jobs he has gone into considerable detail to ensure that he has properly understood the project, and the quality of finishes which the client expected. He has developed a good system for tracking and documenting project costs and recording and agreeing variations. This has assisted clients, by giving them regular updates on the status of the project. In these projects Craig has demonstrated a commitment to building well. The quality of his workmanship has been good and has satisfied our expectations. He has thought ahead and asked questions when needed. During construction he has contributed valuable ideas that have resulted in an improved outcome. He has worked co-operatively. He has seen himself and his workers, in conjunction with clients and architect, as being a team who together are creating a building and a home. He has always endeavoured to listen well to what his clients are saying, and to respond appropriately. He treats people with respect. We had decided to
renovate our home & were concerned about how to contract a reliable
builder. We saw an ad for Craig Preston & thought we would give him a go. We went no further. He prepared a very professional quote & discussed it with us in thorough detail. We just had a ‘gut feeling” that he would do a good job. He & his team were friendly, approachable & worked hard. In fact, they finished ahead of schedule.
